Chris Frymire is a Live Sound and Recording Engineer who works with Artists, Venues and Festival Presenters to provide high quality live sound, recording and technical production services.
Chris believes in providing high quality results regardless of the budget. A successful Engineer provides a technical and creative interface between the Artist and audience that insures that the Artist's music, message, and sound is communicated to the Audience in accordance with the Artist's vision and intent. When the "magic" happens and the response from the audience fuels even greater artistry from the Artist, it becomes a truly outstanding performance and experiencing those performances and sharing them with others is why Chris fell in love with music and sound.
Chris has mixed thousands of live shows, edited a Grammy winning album and recorded and mastered many fine recordings from Artists of all statures and genres over his lengthy career. He has designed and supervised the installation of Audio and presentation systems in Hawaii, Japan, South Korea, and Minnesota and has supported hundreds of presentations to high level decision makers, including then Vice President H. W. Bush. Chris also has a broad knowledge of all aspects of the music industry from production and manufacturing to royalty accounting and record label operations, starting with Red House Records in 1989 and growing with the label to serving as it's Executive Vice President until the independent label's sale in 2017.
Chris is the lead house soundmixer at the Cedar in Minneapolis where, since 1989, he has mixed live many of the finest Acoustic Instrumental, World, Folk, Celtic, Blues, and other Ethnic music acts in the world. The Cedar was called the best live music venue in the world by about.com
Chris is a member of the Audio Engineering Society, The Recording Academy (P&E Wing) and Folk Alliance International
Chris holds a BSBA in General Management / Entrepreneurial Studies from Hawaii Pacific University, an AAS in Audiovisual Production Services from the Community College of the Air Force, and Certificates in Recording, Production, and Maintenance from the Recording Workshop. Chris is an honorably discharged Veteran of the United States Air Force.
